Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients
- Collect 2 pounds of ground beef, 1 cup of breadcrumbs, 1/2 cup of milk, 1/2 cup of ketchup, 1/4 cup of chopped onion, 2 cloves of minced garlic, 2 eggs, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
Step 2: Preheat Your Smoker
- Set your smoker to 225°F (107°C) and let it warm up while you prepare the meatloaf.
Step 3: Mix the Ingredients
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, ketchup, onion, garlic, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined—don’t overwork it!
Step 4: Shape the Meatloaf
- Transfer the mixture to a baking sheet or a loaf pan. Shape it into a loaf, about 2 inches thick, ensuring even thickness for consistent cooking.
Step 5: Add Topping
- Spread a layer of ketchup on top of the meatloaf for a tangy glaze. You can also sprinkle some brown sugar for extra sweetness!
Step 6: Smoke the Meatloaf
- Place the meatloaf in the smoker. Close the lid and let it smoke for about 2 to 2.5 hours, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
Step 7: Rest and Serve
- Once done, remove the meatloaf from the smoker and let it rest for 10-15 minutes. Slice and serve with your favorite sides!
