Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare Crust: Place your pie crust into a tart pan, pressing it into the bottom and sides. Prick the crust with a fork to prevent bubbling during baking.
Make the Filling: In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples, chopped pecans, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and salt. Stir until the apples are evenly coated.
Assemble the Tart: Pour the apple and pecan mixture into the prepared tart shell. Spread it out evenly.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 40–45 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the apples are tender.
Cool: Let the tart cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- The tart provides a balance of healthy fats from the pecans and a natural sweetness from the apples and brown sugar.
- For a lighter version, you can reduce the amount of sugar or use a sugar substitute like stevia or monk fruit.
- This dessert can be made gluten-free by swapping the flour with a gluten-free blend and using a gluten-free crust.
