Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures a perfectly baked cake.
Baking Pan
  1. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or cooking spray. This will help your cake come out easily.
Mix Dry Ingredients
  1. In a bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of cocoa powder, and 1 cup of sugar. This is where the magic begins!
Melt Butter
  1. In a saucepan, melt 1 cup of butter over low heat. Let it cool slightly before adding to the mix.
Combine Wet Ingredients
  1. In a separate bowl, beat 4 eggs and add them to the melted butter. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract for that lovely flavor.
Mix Everything Together
  1. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined; don’t overmix!
Bake the Cake
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes. A toothpick should come out clean!
Prepare the Topping
  1. While the cake is baking, melt 1 cup of chocolate chips and 1 cup of mini marshmallows in a saucepan. Stir until smooth.
Add the Topping
  1. Once the cake is out of the oven, spread the chocolate and marshmallow mixture over the top. Let it cool slightly.
Slice and Serve
  1. Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy your decadent Mississippi Mud Cake!
