Ingredients
  

2 slices of rye bread

1-2 Matjes fillets (pickled herring)

1 tablespoon butter

½ small red onion (thinly sliced)

2-3 pickles (thinly sliced)

Fresh dill (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Prepare the Bread: Spread a thin layer of butter on each slice of rye bread.

    Add the Herring: Place the Matjes fillets on one slice of buttered bread.
