Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients
- Collect 2 large onions, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, 1/2 cup milk, and oil for frying.
Step 2: Prepare the Onions
- Peel and slice the onions into thin rings. You want them to be nice and tender!
Step 3: Make the Batter
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
Step 4: Add Milk
- Pour in the milk and mix until you have a smooth batter. It should be thick enough to coat the onions.
Step 5: Coat the Onions
- Add the onion rings to the batter, making sure they are well coated. Get in there and mix it up!
Step 6: Heat the Oil
- In a large skillet, heat about 1 inch of oil over medium heat. You want it hot but not smoking!
Step 7: Fry the Fritters
- Using a spoon, drop spoonfuls of the batter-coated onions into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Step 8: Drain and Serve
- Remove the fritters and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve warm and enjoy your crispy delights!
